AdventureX Guides Tusc & Maila Take 1st Place in the 2008 Himalayan Whitewater Challenge

A busy season in Nepal was capped off in style with Tuscany Foot and local guide Maila taking first place in their respective categories at the 2008 Himalayan Whitewater Challenge.

Tusc competing in his first Himalayan Whitewater challenge was up against over 25 competitors in his heat. After winning the slalom by a considerable margin he then went onto take first in the 10km down river race and second (by one point!) in the rodeo to end up first overall.

Maila, a seasoned veteran of his native Nepali rivers, bettered his second place of 2007 to take the 2008 title against some 30 other Nepali competitors.

This capped off a fine three months for AdventureX and for Tusc in what was his first Nepal season. Bouyed by his success and his love of rivers Tusc will be back on the rivers in Nepal in the Spring and Autumn seasons of 2009.
