     Itinerary  |   Trip Dossier  |   Dates/Prices  |   Photo Gallery
Nestled amongst the volcanic peaks and secluded wilderness of Southern Chile, lies the untamed shadow of the Futaleufu river. This vast wild river, with an uncountable number of big-water rapids and an encapsulating landscape is one of the most dramatic and indeed greatest worldwide river journeys you could experience. Starting in Argentina, the warm emerald waters of the ‘Fu’ wind westwards through several deep granite canyons collecting endless huge waves, transparent boils and explosive frothy whirlpools. With the constant warmth of the Chilean sun beating down and the evenings spent relaxing in luxurious cabanas and hot tubs, this is a world away from the cold of the UK winter! Predominantly a rafting expedition, this trip is also open to the experienced kayaker.   The Futaleufu - a world classic!
Itinerary

Day One
Arrive in Puerto Montt and transfer to the hotel in the beautiful village of Puerto Varas for overnight.

Day Two
A short flight to Chaiten followed by a spectacular journey to the Futaleufu. Arrive at camp, relax in the sunshine with a dip in the river, late lunch and a nice cold beer!

Day Four
An early start as we head for our put-in on the Rio Espalon, then head down to the confluence with the ‘Fu’. Inferno Canyon awaits with 4km of rapid adrenalin and then calm. Chance to reflect, relax and soak up on the breathtaking surroundings. With the speed of the mighty El Throno to finish, you will be on a high for the night. Camp at Rio Azul.
